You are at Home - Custom - Mods -Under Desk PC

Ever get tired of looking at a PC Tower? With a nice and large Oak Desk available, we build the PC into the desk instead of into a tower case.

The DVD Drives and Flash Card reader, with a Power / Reset switch combo are build into custom Oak frame on the top of the desk. Power and Hard Drive lights are also built into the Oak frame.

The Keyboard, mouse and monitor are obviously separate pieces with nothing really to do with the build.

In between the DVD Drives is a drawer designed to hold the CD's and DVD's of the programs installed in the PC.

If the placement of this PC seems cramped, this is actually the 2nd PC on this desk, and is located in a corner of the desk. The main PC is also built into the desk and is pictured below.

Notice the Oak frame for an iTouch that charges and syncs the device with this PC?

The actual working part of a tower case was cut away from the outside part of the case. The resulting metal frame-work was painted brown and mounted on the underneath surface of the desk.

Custom mounts for the two Hard Drives were attached to the frame to complete the build.

This frame is at least one foot away from closest point a user's knee can get when sitting at the desk.

From anywhere in the room, this frame is out-of-sight, and only the above-desk hardware is visible.

This is a view of both PC's mounted in and under the desk. The PC on the left is shown in better detail above.

The PC on the right also has the Motherboard mounted under the desk. Two DVD Drives and a Flash Card reader can be seen mounted in an Oak Panel to the right of the keyboard.

To the right of the DVD Drives, there is an Oak frame to charge and sync an Android X Cell Phone.

That is the keyboard of a bland old metallic iMac peeking out on the left.
