Recover an accidentally deleted NTFS dynamic vol=
ume
If you accidentally delete a Wind=
ows 2000 NTFS dynamic volume,
there's still a chance you might be=
able to recover its data. You
can do so only if you haven't crea=
ted and formatted a new volume
to take its place. To recover the =
deleted volume, begin by
accessing the Disk Management snap-in an=
d re-creating a volume of
the exact same size. Don't format this =
volume. Next, use the
Dskprobe.exe utility to restore the backup =
boot sector stored on
the volume. Finally, in Disk Management, ch=
oose Action | Rescan
Disks. You should now be able to access the =
previously deleted
NTFS volume.
